I am writing to you to let you know that we are still able to provide our CAT & Genny training including our wide range of accredited courses.

We have been working hard to adapt our procedures.

For both options all delegates will be fully briefed at the start of both the classroom and practical sessions on COVID19 procedures and a documented risk assessment will be completed

I have enclosed copies of our SOP documents that will be used on each session , one for the classroom and one for the practical

We have 2 options available.

1. Traditional Classroom training followed by practical

We are still able to offer our “traditional” training product with delegate numbers adjusted for the classroom to suite the room size and the practical. We have robust documented systems in place and our trainers/assessors have been thoroughly briefed on the requirements.

2. Online & Live Classroom followed by practical

This solution will suite customers who do not want delegates in a classroom/office environment or do not have a room big enough to maintain distance.

The classroom part of the course will be done online through a simple web browser.

Here are 2 examples of how it would work.

1. 1-8 delegates.

a)Complete half day online theory (private and interactive session)
b)Following day AM – 4 delegates practical session after meeting at agreed location
c)Following day PM – 4 delegates practical session after meeting at agreed location

2. Less than 5 delegates,

a)Morning AM complete half day theory online
b)Afternoon PM complete practical at agreed location.

Following the successful trial of webinar software this last week and a lot of technical work behind the scenes we are delighted to announce that we can now offer ALL of our courses through online training.

Almost all of our courses from our 1-day Genny & CAT to our 5 Day PAS128 Utility Mapping course run in partnership with The Survey School are a mixture of practical and classroom-based work.

The classroom sessions can now all be done online for all of our courses.

These will be live sessions, never recorded and completely interactive, allowing questions and discussions throughout.

All documentation, assessment and reg forms are now online!

Practical training is essential when it comes to utility location, however, this method will allow delegates to complete online theory training first then practical sessions will be arranged.

The modules are all aligned to PAS128 and mapped to the CICES competencies for Utility Mapping

This will be especially beneficial to utility mapping companies; no longer will you have to lose your surveyors for 5 days at residential courses. The online sessions will be offered at various times including after hours and the practical sessions can, if required, be on an actual job completing a survey.

The ProQual qualifications have always been available online with Sygma, however these have been an assessment-based system for experienced surveyors. We can now reveal that the training elements for these qualifications, which have historically been face to face, can now be done online.

This isn’t just a measure to allow training to continue with social distancing in place, this format will be an ongoing option for training on a permanent basis moving forward.

We will still be offering our traditional classroom face to face courses.

Furthermore, to support the industry we will be offering tailored free/discounted sessions to students/young people & jobseekers to encourage people into the surveying industry.
